Charity & Community
We enjoy playing an active part in our local community
The Oak Investment Partnership has set a goal to raise £1m for charity and local community projects over the next decade with any fundraising and volunteering activities undertaken by our Partners going towards that goal. The Partnership provides all Partners with one volunteer day per year, which they can put towards charitable or community project that want.
Charity and Community Partners
Chipping Norton School
The Partnership has a long-standing relationship with Chipping Norton School, every year our Partners volunteer at the School, which in the past has included taking part in speed interviews and encouraging students to learn about business, financial services and managing their money. We recently made a donation to the school which went towards a CV writing workshop, a Year 8 STEM event with Science Oxford and a trip to the Houses of Parliament amongst other projects.
Dogs for Good
Dogs for Good are a Banbury based charity, their aim is to train assistance dogs to help adults and children lead more independent lives, at home and in the community around them. They also train and support community dogs and their specialist handlers to work in activity and therapy in communities and schools. We made a donation to the charity back in January and have become a Puppy Partner, sponsoring a puppy called Bronte through the initial stages of her training.
Banbury Youth Homeless Project
The Banbury Youth Homeless Project supports young people aged between 13 and 25 who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, disadvantaged (and often their families) or simply in need of some advice and support. BYHP covers the areas of Banbury, Bicester, Brackley, Chipping Norton and the surrounding villages, offering services to between 200 and 300 young people annually.
Lawrence Home Nursing
Lawrence Home Nursing provide specialist end-of-life nursing care free of charge in the Chipping Norton area, for those who wish to die at home with dignity, care and reassurance. The Oak Investment Partnership have a long relationship with the Lawrence Home Nursing team, with the founder of the Partnership being a Trustee for the Charity. We regularly donate to the charity and will continue to do so.
Enstone Pre School
Enstone pre-school was first established in 1967. They are a volunteer-run charity providing childcare for children aged 2-5. The pre-school relies heavily on fundraising and charity donations therefore we were very happy to donate to the local pre-school this year.
Thames Valley Air Ambulance
Every day the Air Ambulance brings the expertise, equipment and treatment of a hospital to the scene of an emergency within minutes. We recently donated to the charity and two Partners attended their ‘Thank You’ event in April and were able to meet some of the critical care team and see the response vehicles.
Quest for Learning
Quest for Learning is a local charity with a team of specially trained tutors who carry out numeracy and literacy programmes. They work with primary schools that have identified children who are falling behind in reading or maths and who would benefit from our one-to-one or group programmes. In particular they support children in Year 2 who are struggling to become readers, and children across both Key Stages who lack confidence in numeracy.
